Newsletter privacy

When you request the Lucky Paws newsletter, we use your email address to confirm your request and send rescue stories, adoption updates, and ways to help. Our website sends the confirmation through our Google Workspace mail service. You must open the link and choose Confirm my signup before we send your address to Givebutter, which manages our newsletter contacts and delivery.

If you have not confirmed, we may send one reminder after 24 hours. The original link expires after 48 hours. Each confirmation or reminder includes a cancellation link: open it and choose Stop these emails to cancel the pending request. After subscribing, use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter sent through Givebutter, or contact info@luckypaws.org for help. Cancelling a pending request does not change an existing newsletter subscription.

We keep your request time, confirmation, signup location, and the disclosure you agreed to. Expired unconfirmed requests are removed during scheduled cleanup. Local records of successful signups are removed 90 days after transfer; unresolved confirmed requests are removed 90 days after the original request. Givebutter maintains its separate contact and unsubscribe records. Cancelling a pending request removes your address locally and keeps a protected fingerprint for 30 days to prevent repeated unwanted requests. Temporary protected rate-limit records help prevent abuse, and aggregate signup counts are retained for up to two years. Backup copies follow the website’s backup retention process.

We do not sell or rent your email address or share it for another organization’s marketing. This signup component does not add advertising cookies or tracking pixels. This notice covers newsletter signup; other website features and Givebutter messages may process data separately.
