Our team reviews your form and reaches out to discuss potential matches and answer any questions you have.

Meet your match and choose the cat you’d like to welcome into your family.

Complete the Adoption

Finalize the paperwork and bring your new family member home.

At Lucky Paws, adoptions are based on the best possible match for each cat, not on a first come, first served basis. Because we prioritize their wellbeing, we are not able to hold cats, and we may decline an adoption if we feel it is not the right fit.

Kitten Adoptions

Kittens Come in Pairs

Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs. A bonded companion supports healthy socialization, builds confidence, encourages natural play, and helps prevent the common behavior problems — like excessive biting, clinginess, and nighttime zoomies — that often develop when a kitten is raised alone. Two kittens are genuinely easier than one.

Kittens also require extra time and TLC. Very young kittens may sometimes be considered for foster-to-adopt, but no adoption is finalized until the cat has been spayed or neutered. If you have questions about a specific kitten, reach out and we’re happy to talk through your options.

Meet Cats in Person

Visit Us at PetSmart Iwilei

Lucky Paws partners with PetSmart Charities to operate an adoption center at PetSmart Iwilei, 500 N Nimitz Hwy, Honolulu. At any given time, we typically have 12–16 adoptable cats there — all vetted, vaccinated, and ready to meet you.

This partnership gives adopters a convenient, welcoming public space to meet cats in person, and gives our cats much greater visibility in the community. The more cats that find homes through our PetSmart center, the more space opens up in foster homes for the next cat who needs rescue. It’s a win for everyone — especially the cats.
